On July 17, 2008, JPMorgan Chase & Co. (“JPMorgan Chase” or the “Firm”) reported 2008 second
quarter net income of $2.0 billion, or $0.54 per share, compared with net income of $4.2 billion,
or $1.20 per share, for the second quarter of 2007. A copy of the 2008 second quarter earnings
