December 17, 2007, Mr. William L. Marks, Chairman of the Board of Directors
and
Chief Executive Officer of Whitney Holding Corporation (the "Company"), notified
the Company that the effective date of his previously-disclosed intent
to retire as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board will be
March 15, 2008. Mr. Marks will also retire from
the Company's Board of Directors at the same time.
