motorola-black-logo.jpg Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT, MOT message board) announced today the company has released an update of its Motorola Communications Convergence Engine (CCE). The software combines TV and internet, providing personalization options and all the services of conventional TV. Storefront 1.0 update added new options to the marketing and bundling of IPTV, Internet and physical goods. Network operators can benefit from the added ability to deliver video and gaming services to consumers. CCE update was introduced at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show (ICES).

Motorola CCE uses interface that is fully compatible with existing telecom hardware and software systems. This eases the provision of services as well as allows achieving efficiency improvements.

"With the latest CCE updates, IPTV operators can differentiate their content packages through personalized offers and promotions, packaged with personalized advertisements, thus getting the most value out of their premium video assets," said Alan Lefkof, general manager and corporate vice president, Broadband Home Gateways and Software, Motorola, Inc. "The introduction of Storefront 1.0 demonstrates further evidence of our commitment and experience in IPTV. With personalization and three-screen capability, this game-changing software provides new revenue streams for many telecom operators along with a significant competitive advantage."

The family of Motorola's CCE products also incorporates Content Manager and Service Broker applications. During CES, the company will present new product functionality by demonstrating a three-screen experience, meaning content convergence between three different devices - a set-top box, personal computer and mobile phone.
