University Bancorp, Inc. The Company is a Delaware corporation that operates as a bank holding company for its wholly-owned subsidiary, University Bank. The Company changed its name to `University Bancorp, Inc.' from `Newberry Bancorp, Inc.' in 1996, in order to more closely align its identity with the Bank's.

University Bank. The Bank is a state chartered community bank. The Bank began business in 1890 and was chartered by the state of Michigan in 1908.
