Zunicom, Inc. has historically operated through two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Universal Power Group, Inc. ("UPG") and AlphaNet Hospitality Systems, Inc. ("AlphaNet").
Zunicom, Inc., formerly Tech Electro Industries, Inc., was incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas on January 10, 1992, for the purpose of acquiring 100% of the capital stock of Computer Components Corporation, a distributor of electronic components incorporated in 1968. On October 29, 1996, Universal Battery Corporation was incorporated for the purpose of expanding into new markets for batteries and battery-related products. In May 1999, Universal Battery Corporation merged into Computer Components Corporation. In January 2004, Computer Components Corporation changed its name to Universal Battery Corporation. Subsequently, in May 2004, Universal Battery Corporation changed its name to Universal Power Group, Inc.
