Do you think he would be able to do that? Why?

It is a known fact that because Kacy Kang left, almost all of the good people left right afterwards and are still leaving. If he comes back to us, all our former leaders will come back guaranteed. We still talk about him

A visionary leader with the ability to meet goals, lead people while never forgeting who he really serves - the customer. Ethics in leadership guide this man.

Welcome to this MB, Sue. You must have worked with him, I suppose.
How was he as the VP of Operations of the company?

Kacy is the President & CEO of Good Neighbor Care in Eugene, Oregon. I hear he and his team turned the operations around and the management company as expected. We miss him at Emeritus. He was intense when he needed to be but what a practical joker he was. He made the hard work seem worth it. I'm glad he is happy and doing well. Emeritus is doing just fine too, even without Kacy.

I have heard bad things about the company. The ship of ESC is sinking. Is that true? Or these are only the bad rumors about the company?
Does anyone know?
Can anyone tell me that?

Suzette was only interested in the money and NOT resident care or services.
So, she got fired when the Summerville and Emeritus merger occurred....good thing.

The ship is not sinking. In fact, Granger Cobb, Co-CEO did an extraordinary job of consolidating the organization and brought cutting edge processes to the forefront of operations. Suzette, Kacy, Gary and the rest have a vested interest in ESC doing well. Much of their retirement is wrapped up in ESC's stock. Life goes on...

Suzette retired, I was there at the party. No one who gets terminated gets flown out to Arizona and gets a full blown party in their honor. Also, realize that no one got fired during the merger. People left on their own volition. These things happen during mergers. Change happens.

Suzette retired from Emeritus. All the people that knew her and worked with her know she devoted 30+ years to caring for resident quality of life and supporting the people who cared for the residents. She gave her best and expected the same from her peers.

Kacy was truly a great boss to work for. He was very approachable and down to earth. Had a great ability to inspire others around him. I worked for Kacy for only 1 year but have thought about him several times the 5 years I have been gone. Glad to hear he is doing well.

According to filings with the SEC a number of senior level Emeritus
people were let go. Suzette was one of them. Granger and Baty
had a deal on a set number of Board seats and executive level
positions.
Suzette was not highly regarded in the field and was an easy push
out. The removal of Kacy Kang further demonstrated just how much
Baty compromised his "key" people to get the Summerville deal done.
Sad, at 65 he is a "C0" President.

Suzette and her inner circle in Florida were all wiped clean with the Summerville
deal. Tom Julian was another Baty wannabe who got his walking papers along with
Sue. Baty had to make room based on the deal he cut with Cobb. Canning Suzette
and most of the Regionals made sense. What confuses me is why Kacy Kang was let go.
I never met him but have only heard wonderful things.
Dan Baty really did sell his soul to get larger...who at 65 welcomes being
a "co" anything.

Not quite true. Her office staff loved her but she was not respected
by those in the communites. McCanless was given no choice but to
"resign" or lose the fairly generous severance package.
I was there.

All of you people have it wrong. Suzette, Kacy, Gary and the rest of the Emeritus executive operations leaders left on their own to pursue other opportunities. They were all well liked but life goes on even without them. We now have a new executive team and things are still good and they are all good people.
My question is why after two years are we all still talking about them? I will agree that Kacy was inspirational.
