John is a high-impact, no nonsense, get results kind a leader that I have worked for and have admired immensely throughout the years. I've seen him begin start-up companies, like Tigon, to see it gain the attention of the large Corporations who would want to acquire it just for his ideas and the technology her masterfully utilized and sold.

His style of managment would intimidate the lazy, but invigorate those who wanted to over-achieve. He emphatically gave each person a sense of urgency to perform to their greatest abilities that he hired them for. I sold the largest re-seller acount for him at PageMart, and he was also very generous to pay for over-achievement for hard worked and earned results.

Humorously, the description I give of him and his insistence on urgency with results can best be described by this;

Being the CEO I had the unfounded misfortune early in my career of having my first office very close to his office.....and he would very often pop his head in and say,

"What have you sold for me today?"

I felt the pressure of producing immediately, and he gave everyone that sense of urgency no matter what position they were involved in or with. He kept in contact on a daily basis with all facets of the business, not just "sit in the ivory tower" of aloofness that many in such positions might have.

I was fortunate to have worked for him through two companies that he began and then see them flourish due to his brilliance and technological insight to forecast what was yet to come.
