Although Sam may own a very large, nice and expensive horse farm. And though he may claim to be a sulky racer, it's only via his own ego that he exhibits any skill. When was the last time any of his horses consistanly placed, and when was the last time he himself even showed. It's just a spoiled rich boy indulging in an expensive hobby to win the love of a father who has no real respect for his ne'er do well son. I wonder if he even enjoys racing, or if it's all for the love of his father?
