David Johnson, Park Place President and CEO said, "We now have a solid North East British Columbia core in our producing Eight Mile gas property and Park Place is well positioned for rapid traditional gas production growth. The timing could not be better for the company to be taking this next major step toward participation in the development of the shale gas region of the Horn River Basin and areaâ.

Are you really sure about that? It seems odd to see such stocks on the trade.

It's winter right now, at least in some part of the world. So there is no wonder that Citigroup is under the blanket of sleepness.. Wink

Being the ex-investor in Citigroup, I am just curious whether there is anyone with the company Citigroup still? I am glad to have escaped this disaster because now it seems to be in a really bad position.

After having read the article "Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) possibly to shed failing assets", and looking at the financial situation of the company, I can only tell you that there is a rule: when the company is overvalued, it will finally get to the bottom. Citigroup is not the exception.

It does not have enough resources to pay bills and it does not seem to have them in the future as well. Isn't that scary? Doesn't that look like the end of the glory days on the New York Stock Exchange? I smell Pink Sheets in here or even worse. Keep an eye on C!

By the way, I am including the excerpt from 10-Q filing:

Citigroup reported a $3.4 billion loss from continuing operations ($0.71 per share) for the third quarter of 2008. The third quarter results were impacted by higher consumer credit costs, continued losses related to the disruption in the fixed income markets, and a general economic slowdown. The net loss of $2.8 billion ($0.60 per share) in the third quarter includes the results of our German Retail Banking Operations and CitiCapital (which are now reflected as discontinued operations).

Revenues were $16.7 billion, down 23% from a year ago. The decline in revenues was driven by $4.4 billion in net write-downs in S&B (after reflection of the gain on Citigroup's liabilities under the fair value option), lower securitization results in North America Cards, and a $612 million write-down related to the auction rates securities (ARS) settlement, partially offset by a $347 million pre-tax gain on the sale of CitiStreet. The prior-year period included a $729 million pre-tax gain on the sale of Redecard shares. Revenues across all businesses reflect the impact of a difficult economic environment and weak capital markets.

I bought 5K today. Expecting 200 percent returns in 2 months time as the entry point is low and nationalization is not really a plan and just a scare tactics rumor.

Aren't you afraid of the predictions to the company?
I would feel uncomfortable to have bought shares of such a company. I consider the financial situation of the company to be of a great importance.

What money do you have in mind? Where did the 5K appear from and where did they vanish?
I just know that Citigroup is in a deep hole of debts and it isn't going to get out of it very soon, or it will even get deeper and deeper in that hole.
I don't suggest to look at it to any investor, unless you want to loose.

Personally I think Citi is a better choice than BoA contri to many other experts. With 36% Govt owned, its not likely to fail before any other 12 TARP banks. Its likely to maintain a slow steady updrift until Q2 atleast.

Good choices were made during the $1 bottom. 50-100% wealthier

I can't tell you whether DoA is a worse choice than Citigroup when I don't know what DoA is?
A really dangerous indicator is the long term debt which is $476,378,000,000. And it seems that this debt has been present all the time and it keeps growing.
