James, sorry you sold. I bought in at 17 and it went down to 8 in a month. I bought more at 8. I made money last year with FSLR (still am) and I think you can catch lightning in a bottle here if you're patient. Solar is the future but you must be patient. Right now, the stock is a bargain.

Because of the potential for ramping up its production and dramatic cost reduction, however, sun watchers should not routinely dismiss Evergreen Solar as just another player in the future of solar.
Who knows? The company just might make the list of solar power manufacturer capable of achieving the elusive grid parity â” the point at which photovoltaic electricity is equal to or cheaper than grid power â” with fossil fuels.

I bought ESLR at 9 and saw no reason for it to fall. Yet it fell. I attend their conference calls and all's good. I'm keeping it - on it's way back and definitely undervalued.

Hello:
Evergreen is a very good investment. Anyone with manufacturing experience knows that when starting up a new plant or operation you will have increased cost and expenses. When these expenses are looked at as normal operations a false return on most if not all calculators is returned. Evergreen has to start up production of a new very large plant. They have to hire people and train them at increased cost. These cost are not offset by greater production or profit because there is a lag in production and profits until production catches up. This will happen! Evergreen has proven the process and is now in the process of improving production output. When the people are trained use of the Quad System will bring substantial increases in production witch in-turn will increase profits.
I think by this time next year Evergreen will have three (3) relevant rev anew streams! First Solar Cell Products, Second technology licensing, Third String production and sales to those who license Evergreens' process.
I do not work for Evergreen nor do I have proof of everything I have mentioned. This is what I feel is going to happen. Listening to the conference calls and what is taking place in building and planing leads me to these conclusions.

i've been long eslr since 2003. i've made a lot of money selling on swings. and this one is full of them.
either way, it (and the rest of the sector) have been severely damaged by the recent turn in economic conditions even though the sector represents one of the more "doable" solutions to solving carbon-derived energy dependence. (there's a LOT of discussion about how solar could never output the level of energy our entire society requires but that's just straight up wrong.)
eslr will do well in the future. just have to be an investor and not a gambler. steady at the helm, ensign.

I would advise you to keep them. The stock price is really low and you won't get enough money to pay your broker, if you sell them. Unless you really need 80 dollars

I'm an eslr fan. Been with the company since 2003. They have a new technology coming soon called "multi-wire". This will improve output per panel another 1.5 percent. They are already the top dog in panel performance now. It will be 18 to 22 per share in less than 18 months.
