Daniel J. Hanrahan Please help me!!!

The first week of April, I booked a cruise for Christmas for my entire family. Mom, Dad, brothers, sister in laws nieces, nephews etc. (20 in total) At the time I booked my sister in law was pregnant expecting a child. My travel agent and I called Celebrity direct and they assured us bringing a baby on the cruise would not be a problem. I signed everything, paid deposits and we were VERY much looking forward to our cruise as a family. Our Cruismas. Yesterday, my travel agent called with a Celebrity policy change indicating that the baby could no longer come. As a result this has put my family in a very uncomfortable position leaving me with 2 options:
1. Leave my brother and his family at home and go on the cruise with the rest of us- this is not an option as we are committed to being together as a family for Christmas. This is making my mother cry.
or
2. Cancel our reservation and do something else.

I VERY much want to do this cruise and I ask you to honor your commitment to my family. Approval was given for the baby in April when we booked; at the very least we should be grandfathered in.

As significant time has passed since our April booking we will be very hard pressed to find any vacation of equivalent quality at this hour. I strongly urge you to keep your commitment to our family and allow the baby to come.

What I need from you is this:
1. Approval for the baby to come.
2. A letter from you confirming baby approval so we will not have a hard time getting on and off at the ports.

As a company of integrity; I'm sure you'll do the right thing.

Regards,
Jamie Vermeeren

Mr. Hanrahan,

I also need your assistance. Your representatives have not been able to resolve my problem to date.

In June, 2008 I booked a 1A stateroom on the 19 April 2008 Solstice Transatlantic crossing. I understand that because of an obsturcted view my 1A stateroom was recatorgized as a 2C. At first my travel agent advised me nothing could be done and I should "be happy" with the stateroom I have. After my objection, my travel agent said I had the option to cancel my reservation, to pay $640 for a 1B stateroom, or keep my 2C stateroom. I was advised by my travel agent that the Celebrity partner advocate agreed to provide me the 1B category stateroom for the $640 upcharge.

In June I could have elected to book a 2A stateroom for $378 less than the 1A stateroom I booked. I chose the 1A stateroom in June because I wanted the top category stateroom that was offered. Per my travel agent, your partner advocate ultimately agreed to a $240 reduction in my cruise fare for the recatgorized 2C cabin.

I would appreciate your efforts to help me secure a 1A cabin as I do not want a price reduction or a 2C cabin.

In closing I should note that the Celbrity representatives that I have dealt with have been very polite and understanding. They appear to want to help but I suspect the problem may be my travel agent as my travel agent is firm as to my options.

Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

Dan... you should be nothing short of ashamed of your Corporate Guest Relations Department. Trying to file a complaint/comment, your website restricts it to nothing short of a few lines. It does give an address to send them a letter, which I sent on 12/12/08. Today is January 12, 2009, and have heard nothing back, not even a screw you, we hate you, or a don't bother us.... Is that what you expect from your people? If that is the way you do business, well shame on you! Here is our data, and you can check in who we are and respond... that is, if you even care to, given how the rest of your company does business.

Call me... I'll be glad to share the original letter with you. I'd just send it to you, but why waste another 42 cents on deaf ears. Oh... we are approaching 20 cruises, and have never ever complained before, so we are not complainers or critics, just want some action this time, or forget about us forever.

The company keeps on making outstanding profit but I can't understand where it comes from.
