While he must be doing something right, the Food Emporium is a mess. The current VP has no experience in the United States market and the incredibly wasteful posh corporate office on 39th St. in Midtown is a joke. The "handpicked" team apparently does nothing and the stores are still a mess. The new "concept" is obviously not working. The store on 59th and 1st is all gloss and no substance. If you want to open a specialty food store, please hire people who know something about food. Go back to what you do well, mediocre grocery stores.

Wow! A&P "a failing company" and Pathmark "a failing company" join together. They leave many of the same "failing managers" on board and attempt to keep the boat afloat. Yeah, how's that workin for ya?
What they should have done was "fire" most of the top spots, in both companies because aparently they do not know how to run a "successful" supermarket business. I am sure there are some that "get it" and would do good things if their hands were not tied, bring in some young blood to generate some life into these "failing companies" and "git er done."
I really hope Mr. Claus sees the error of his ways real soon and makes some changes before this boat goes down.
I have worked for Pathmark 30 years now and was so excited when A&P took over, only to find the same old, same old thing from A&P management.
Bummer!

Colleen, accurate guess on a&p. But don't you seem to be overexagerating too much? The joint companies usually start doing much better and both win a lot from this. Some companies reallu succeeded and are also in a much better situation than they used to be.

It has been a rollercoaster straight down for the last few months. Does anyone know of any reason why this stock should turn around?
