John, Mr. President of Libbey. I also went to school at St.Cecilia for 8 years and I remember you. I also work at Anchor Hocking Glass for 39 years. My first job was at Amos`s Esso across from the KC Chicken, I many times waited on your MOM because your MOM and DAD had a account at AMOS when they owned the MEIER`S GLASS that was a long time ago.Your parents I new them they would be so proud of you I am sure of that. I USED TO WORK AT SYRACUSE CHINA AND IN MY OPINION AS SOON AS LIBBEY TOOK THE PLACE OVER IT WENT RIGHT INTO THE CRAPPER.
IT WAS THIER WAY OR NO WAY..THEY MAY HAVE KNOWN HOW TO MAKE GLASSWARE BUT JUST DIDN`T KNOW HOW TO MAKE PLATES,CUPS AND SAUCERS
WE WERE AROUND FOR OVER 130 YEARS AND THEY OWNED US FOR 15 YEARS AND NOW WE ARE CLOSED..
I`M NOT BITTER THE PLACE SUCKED AND IT DRAINED THE LIFE BLOOD OUT OF ME
ONE MORE THING
WHEN THEY GAVE US THE LETTER EXPLAINING WHY WE WERE CLOSING THEY MOSTLY BLAMED IT ON IMPORTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES THIS IS TRUE BUT IN THE VERY NEXT SENTENCE THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO IMPORT
ALL YOU COMPANIES COMPLAIN ABOUT LOSING BUSINESS BUT THAT`S JUST ALOT OF BS
YOU ARE MAKING MORE PROFITS AND THAT IS WHAT THESE COMPANIES ARE ALL ABOUT
GREED
