LOUIS , March 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GenoMed (Pink Sheets: GMED), a Next Generation Disease Management company whose business is public health(TM), announced today that it has developed a genomic test for predicting six common cancers: breast, colon, lung, ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate.
GenoMed's test, called the Healthchip(R), consists of several hundred single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs, pronounced 'snips'). Although several more years of tests will be required before FDA approval, the Healthchip(R) currently identifies patients correctly 85% of the time.
