TAMPA , Fla., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Imaging Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: GISX) announced today that Joseph Payne, 46, has been appointed president of MWB Copy Products, Inc., a Global core company based in Cypress, CA, with multiple locations throughout Los Angeles , Orange, San Diego , Riverside and San Bernardino counties. He succeeds Tom Metzler, president of West Coast operations for Global, who has headed up the MWB staff on an interim basis during the search for a new company president.

Michael Shea, president and chief operating officer of Global Imaging Systems, said, 'We are particularly pleased to have Joseph Payne assume the presidency of MWB. He has demonstrated strong leadership skills during his 14 years in office technology management, and is particularly well qualified to assume the MWB presidency.'

Mr. Payne comes to Global from Ricoh where he was most recently the branch general manager for the San Francisco , Oregon, and Washington areas. Previously, he held increasingly more responsible positions with IKON culminating as marketplace president for the Oregon marketplace. He has held management positions with Monroe Systems for Business, University Copy and UBEC where he was president and a partner. While studying at Mesa Community College, he interned for then Congressman John McCain. He also pursued international studies at the American School in Vienna , Austria , while on embassy duty for the United States Marine Corps.
