MILWAUKEE , Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson Controls announced the election of Colin Boyd and Jacqueline Strayer as corporate officers, effective today.

Mr. Boyd joins Johnson Controls as vice president, information technology and chief information officer. He will lead the company's IT function, succeeding Sam Valanju, who will retire next spring. Mr. Boyd previously was chief information officer and corporate vice president of Sony Ericsson. He holds an MSc in information technology from the University of London and a BSc in production engineering and management from the University of Nottingham .

Ms. Strayer joins Johnson Controls as vice president, communication. She will lead the company's communications function, succeeding Denise Zutz, who will retire at the end of this year. Ms. Strayer was previously vice president, corporate communications, for Arrow Electronics, Inc. She holds a master's of professional studies from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, Graduate Division of Film and Television and a bachelor of arts in economics and political science from the University of Connecticut.
