WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- K & F Industries Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: KFI) announced today that Aircraft Braking Systems Corporation (ABSC), its wholly owned subsidiary, has been chosen by Adam Aircraft to be the sole source supplier of wheels and brakes for its new very light jet (VLJ), the A700 AdamJet(TM).

Adam Aircraft selected ABSC's wheels and steel brakes to assure the A700's superior takeoff and landing performance, which was demonstrated during numerous flights of an A700 test model throughout 2006. Leveraging the extensive field experience of similar-sized ABSC equipment in service on other aircraft, ABSC will provide eight-inch main wheels and steel brakes.

The turbofan-powered A700 AdamJet(TM) is configured with six seats to accommodate two crew members and four passengers and includes an aft lavatory.

Without the lavatory, it can accommodate eight seats. The aircraft has a projected cruising speed of over 340 knots and a maximum range of nearly 1,400 nautical miles at 41,000 feet. The first flight of the A700 took place in July 2003 . The FAA certification timetable should allow for initial deliveries in 2007.

Kenneth M. Schwartz, K & F Industries president and chief executive officer, stated, 'The A700 AdamJet(TM) is an exciting new entry into the young and rapidly growing VLJ category of the general aviation market. It offers the largest cabin in its class and includes features that promise to make this aircraft popular with both private owners and air taxi operators. Working with Adam Aircraft on the A700 program further expands our presence within the very light jet market segment, an area that we believe has the potential for significant growth in the coming years.'
