WD-40 Co. (NASDAQ: WDFC) shares sank recently, after the lubricant and household cleaner maker's fiscal first quarter profit fell short of analyst estimates, in part due to declining sales in the U.S. After the market closed on Wednesday, the San Diego-based company reported 30 percent sales growth in Europe and a 46 percent increase in revenue from Asia. Sales in Latin America were also greater than last year, but they were more than canceled out by weaker results from the U.S. and Canada.
