Macronix International Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: MXIC; TSEC: 2337) today announced that it has appointed Chih-Yuan Lu as President of Macronix. Miin Wu will continue his duties as executive chairman of the company. These changes are effective immediately.
Chih-Yuan Lu has over three decades of experience in the semiconductor
industry and has received numerous awards and accolades for his research and
development achievements. Prior to his promotion to President, Chih-Yuan Lu
served as Senior Vice President from 2003 until 2007 and as Chief Technology
Officer from 1999-2003 of Macronix International. Lu also serves as Chairman
of Ardentec Corporation and Chairman, Semiconductor Committee, Ministry of
Economics Affairs, at ROC. He held various senior positions at Vanguard
International Semiconductor Corporation from 1994-1999, at ERSO/ITRI from
1989-94, and at AT&T-Bell Labs, U.S.A. from 1984-89. He also served as a
