(Nasdaq: MTSN), a leading supplier of advanced process equipment used to manufacture semiconductors, today announced that it had received an order for its Suprema(TM) photoresist strip system from a Japanese-based worldwide leader in the development and manufacture of electronic products for a wide range of consumer, business, and industrial needs. The shipment expands Mattson's installed base of Suprema systems, and broadens its leadership in photoresist strip products.

The Company noted that it had recently undertaken an internal analysis of its competitive position in the strip market, the results of which indicate Mattson gained market share in the first half of 2008 as compared to the same period in 2007.
