BALTIMORE , Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Williams Scotsman International, Inc., a leading provider of mobile and modular space, announced today it has been awarded a multi-million dollar project to provide barracks, administrative buildings, storage facilities, classrooms, and battalion and company headquarter buildings to the Fort Bliss military post in Texas. Williams Scotsman, as part of a team led by Clark Design/Build, LLC, will provide approximately half of the modular facilities under the total contract. The deal will provide Fort Bliss with complete site preparation and turn-key services upon which 199 modular buildings totaling over 350,000 square feet will be constructed.

According to the U.S. Army Installation Management Institute, modular construction will provide a more flexible solution to the U.S. Army as it reorganizes into smaller, more self-sustaining combat brigades, adjusts to the base closings as a result of BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure), and grows with the return of forces now in South Korea and Europe that need more facilities space.
