Cocrystal Pharma Inc. (OTCBB:COCP) Loses Its Momentum

by Dragni Dragnev January 4, 2016

Cocrystal Pharma Inc. (OTCBB:COCP, COCP message board) managed a nice 14.10% up in last year's final trading session – but will it be able to keep its momentum in 2016? The first minutes of today's early trading say – no.

Heavy selling is currently taking the ticker down from the perch it sat upon in the last session of 2015 – and that's only natural. Why?

When thinking of COCP, there are some key details that investors need to keep in mind.

Although it is definitely true that COCP has a notable advantage over most other companies in the same league, the company is not entirely without its faults. One major concern here, as is the norm with OTC Markets pharma stocks is dilution.

Investors should note well the fact that the company's number of shares of common stock outstanding has grown from 122 million to 694 million between August 8, 2014 and August 13, 2015. Dilution doesn't seem to have been rampant in Q3 2015, but there's no real way to know what has happened in Q4, just as there's no real way to know how many shares the company will print in the days to come.

What's worse is the fact that there's no way to throw light on the matter – and it's unclear whether COCP will deem it necessary to dos o in an 8-K, before its next financial report hits the web.

Another huge point of concern is the fact that the company finished 2015 with a market cap of more than 620 MILLION. Do we even need to explain why that's not a realistic market evaluation for COCP at this point in time?
